Haier Poach Nikon’s Brand Boss

Haier Poach NikonFisher & Paykel have announced Georgia Way as Brand Manager for Haier in Australia.

Way left her Brand Communications Manager role at Nikon after a four year stint to join the appliance giant, it has been confirmed to Channel News. 

Way commenced the role Monday last. She will replace Yvonne Hong who was promoted to Senior Brand Manager at Fisher & Paykel, after four years leading marketing at Haier.
Way has ten years marketing experience, having worked at Juniper Development Group and FMCG/Beverage/Liquor Jim Beam, and will be responsible for building the Haier brand profile and accelerating consumer awareness of its appliance portfolio.  
The Chinese-owned appliance giant plans to expand market share locally, this year. 
“2014 promises to be a year of sustained growth as we rollout new products and major marketing initiatives and continue to gain market share,” says Kara May, Marketing Manager, Fisher & Paykel.
“We are delighted to have Georgia join the company and I believe she will be an excellent addition to the marketing team as we work to achieve rapid growth of the Haier brand in the Australian market.”  
Last year saw major global rebranding for Haier, which will be duplicated across all consumer communication touch points in 2014. Fisher and Paykel was acquired by Haier, the world’s biggest appliance company, in 2012.
