Dehumidifier Sales Leap As Aussies Battle Mould

As Australians battle unseasonal weather this year, sales of air purifiers and dehumidifiers have soared.

Philips Domestic Appliances reported a 76 per cent increase in dehumidifier sales in Australia from January to March, and expect their total ‘air category’ sales for the year to increase by 130 per cent over 2021.

This is part of a longer trend, as the company notes an over 65 per cent increase in air purifier sales from 2019 to 2021.

“Australians are increasingly focused on what is most important to them – keeping themselves and their loved ones healthy and safe,” said Geoff Hannaford, Country Manager, Philips Domestic Appliances, Australia and New Zealand.

“With people being indoors most of the time and prioritising their health, health-at-home is key. Our recent innovations use the latest technologies for customers to sustain healthy indoor spaces through intelligent, personalised solutions.”
