Huawei To Get Into The Talk Market
Apple has Siri ,Samsung is soon to get Bixby now Huawei the third-largest smartphone maker in the world is set to unleash their own version of digital voice assistants for a new range of smartphones.
The technology could also make it into the home with the Chinese Company also looking to take on Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Hello and Google Assist.
Initially the technology will be built forthe Chinese market.
Last month, Huawei announced it would use Alexa on its Mate 9 smartphones in the U.S. Currently, the Google Assistant only runs on Google’s Pixel smartphone.
Huawei Australia smartphones will initially get Alexa Voice via a firmware upgrade when and if Alexa Voice is launched in Australia.
The company said that a team of more than a hundred engineers is in the early stages of developing the technology at its Shenzhen, China offices.
The efforts are extensive and are aimed squarely at their competitors.
In English language countries the company intends to work with Google and Amazon.
According to Business week, Huawei is targeting $33 billion in sales from its consumer business this year. The company trails only Apple and Samsung Electronics Co. in global smartphone shipments as it pushes upmarket with premium features.
In Australia, the company is set to target the fashion lifestyle market according to consumer marketing manager Marc Digiacomo.

Late last year Samsung acquired Viv Labs last year, a startup formed by some Siri founders, to serve as the basis for its own voice assistant.
Samsung plans to release the first devices with this new technology later this year.
