Huawei P30 Snubs MWC For Paris Launch

Huawei has announced, via its social media channels, that it will be unveiling its latest flagship, as previously tipped, in Paris on March 26.

With MWC only a week away, Huawei — like many other heavy-hitters in smartphones, Samsung and Apple — are opting for their own separate event to showcase their top-tier devices.

As a major tourist destination, Paris was an obvious choice for the P20 release and Huawei is repeating that this year with the P30.

The teaser features the hashtag #RewriteTheRules and zoomed in on many iconic Parisian landmarks, indicating that the optical zoom on the new handset could receive a major upgrade.

There have been many rumours circulating around Huawei’s latest devices, including a four-camera system on the rear of the P30 Pro, with three on the P30.

It is also expected to feature the latest Kirin processor with onboard AI, and potentially an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The news follows Huawei CEO speaking out against the privacy concerns and the potential US sanctions levelled against his company.
