Huawei will launch the Mate X7 internationally on December 11 at a “Flagship Product Launch” event in Dubai, UAE, one day after unveiling the foldable smartphone in China.

Huawei announced the international debut through an Instagram post.

While the company didn’t provide a list of countries receiving the Mate X7, Huawei’s UAE and Saudi Arabia branches are currently the only ones promoting the launch on their websites, suggesting these will be the first international markets.

The Huawei Mate X7 is powered by the Kirin 9030 Pro SoC, runs HarmonyOS 6, and packs a 5,525mAh battery.

The device features two displays: an 8-inch foldable screen and a 6.49-inch cover screen.

The smartphone includes five cameras with a triple-camera setup on the rear comprising a 50MP primary, 50MP periscope telephoto, and 40MP ultra-wide unit.

Two 8MP selfie cameras complete the setup.

Australian consumers will be able to purchase the Mate X7 online, though devices will not be certified for Australian networks.

This means the phone may lack full compatibility with local carriers and could experience limited network functionality.

Huawei’s foldable phones compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series and other premium foldables in international markets.

The Mate X7’s launch outside China represents Huawei’s continued push in the foldable smartphone category despite ongoing challenges in Western markets.
