Huawei Gives iPhone Fans Free Portable Chargers – “You’ll Need It”
Chinese-based Huawei has continued its mockery of Apple, this time giving away free portable chargers to individuals queuing for 2018 iPhones, remarking “you’ll need it”.
As per tech360, Huawei staff were seen distributing free power banks to individuals waiting outside Apple’s Singapore store.
Mothership.sg claims the Chinese giant gave away 200 power banks, specifically to those queuing overnight.
According to CNBC, Huawei also conducted a similar manoeuvre in London, where it distributed power banks to passersby from a van that read “Get ju%ce that lasts. No traces of Apple.”
It comes after Huawei outranked Apple as the world’s second largest smartphone vendor earlier this year, in terms of market share.
The Chinese giant is set to release its flagship Mate 20 later this year, which is tipped to offer robust components and extended battery life.
Huawei also claims Apple’s new iPhones are a subpar reiteration of existing technology – e.g. versus its P20 Pro smartphone.
The news comes as global smartphone competition continues to intensify, specifically within the premium market.
