Huawei ‘Better World’ 2020 Summit To Kick-Off As CFO Faces Extradition
Huawei’s multi-day virtual conference ‘Better World 2020 Summit’ is set to commence today, running until 30th July.
This coincides with a court hearing in Vancouver, Canada, which could see Huawei’s Chief Financial Office Meng Wanzhou extradited to the US to face charges of bank fraud and other allegations.
The online ‘Better World’ event will focus on how technology will be used to fight the COVID-19 crisis, as well as the company’s roadmap for 5G and B2B, and its business outlook.
It will include keynote speeches by a range of Huawei executives, including Rotating Chairman Guo Ping.
This will be a telling week for the world’s major tech players, with Apple, Samsung and LG all scheduled to release their earnings reports.
In addition, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong is showcasing its new line of Chinese tech stocks with a new index – the Hang Seng Tech Index. This index will track Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Lenovo, among others.
