HMD Pulse 2 Pro Tipped To Have iPhone 17-Style Camera and 50MP Sensors
HMD Global is set to refresh its affordable smartphone range with the upcoming Pulse 2 Pro, with early leaks suggesting the Finnish brand is taking some bold design cues from Apple.
Renders show a dual-camera module strikingly similar to that of the iPhone 17 Pro, with two large lenses housed in a pill-shaped island set inside a raised squircle frame.
While the resemblance to Apple’s flagship lineup is unmistakable, HMD appears to be targeting the mid-range market rather than the premium tier.
The Pulse 2 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up from 90Hz on the previous model.
Powering the device is said to be the Unisoc T615 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Despite the visual upgrade, the phone will reportedly stick with 4G connectivity, as the chipset lacks 5G support.

Camera specs are where HMD seems to be doubling down.
The handset is expected to include a 50MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 2MP secondary sensor, and a 50MP front-facing camera, which is an impressive offering for a budget-friendly device.
The Pulse 2 Pro will also boast a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging, dual speakers, dual microphones, NFC and a customisable side button. It’s said to ship with Android 15 and feature IP54 dust and splash resistance, along with a repairable design, continuing HMD’s focus on sustainability.
Colour options are expected to include green, black and purple, the latter appearing prominently in leaked images. Pricing is rumoured to be around €180 (A$295), placing it firmly in the affordable mid-range segment.
HMD has not yet confirmed a launch date but it’s suggested it could take place before the end of the year.
