Hisense Takes On Samsung With RGB TVs, TCL and Sony Set to Follow
Hisense is taking aim at Samsung’s newly launched Micro RGB TVs, signaling an intensifying battle in the large-format, ultra-premium TV market.
The Chinese brand has unveiled plans for a new line of RGB Mini LED TVs designed to rival Samsung’s flagship 115-inch Micro RGB model.
The move comes as Samsung works to reclaim market share lost to Chinese rivals over the past few years.
While Samsung’s Micro RGB technology uses micrometer-scale red, green, and blue LEDs to achieve unmatched color accuracy and contrast, Hisense is betting on its TriChroma RGB Mini LED approach to compete directly.
Hisense’s new 116-inch RGB Mini LED TV (pictured) will feature more than 10,000 local dimming zones and LED chips comparable in size to Samsung’s, allowing for vivid, lifelike images that maintain color purity even through LCD filters.

Pricing is expected to undercut Samsung’s A$49,000 model, with retail forecasts around A$39,900 in Australia.
It is expected that TCL and Sony are also preparing to enter the RGB race, with prototypes reportedly in the works for 2026 launches.
TCL has been testing RGB Mini LED displays in China, while Sony is rumored to be developing Micro RGB panels with a focus on high-end cinematic color performance.
Samsung continues to expand its Micro RGB line, with production ramping up in its Vietnam plant and new models – including 65-, 85-, and 98-inch versions – expected in global markets throughout 2026.
However, the arrival of Chinese competitors suggests the ultra-premium segment will see intensified rivalry.
