Haier Unveils I-Pro Shine Dishwashers With LED Sanitising Technology
Haier has introduced a new line of dishwashers called I-Pro Shine that uses a lighting-based sanitising system designed to remove bacteria while operating at lower temperatures. The technology, known as Biovitae, can eliminate up to 99.99 per cent of bacteria at 45°C, which the company says can reduce energy consumption compared with the high-temperature cleaning cycles or ultraviolet systems commonly used in competing appliances.
Biovitae relies on a patented system of multi-wavelength visible LED light that works inside the dishwasher cavity to slow and suppress bacterial growth. Unlike conventional hygiene programmes that depend on a single high-temperature phase at the end of a wash cycle, the lighting system operates both during and after the wash process to maintain sanitisation within the appliance.
The dishwasher range includes an UltraClean 45° programme that provides laboratory-tested bacteria reduction at temperatures well below the 70 to 75°C typically required by traditional hygiene settings. By lowering the temperature required for sanitising dishes, the programme aims to cut energy use per cycle while still maintaining the intended cleaning performance.

Haier has also added an Odour Safe Mode designed to keep unpleasant smells from developing inside the machine. The function uses the Biovitae light system to suppress bacteria responsible for odours for up to 10 hours before a wash cycle begins. This feature may appeal to households that prefer to load dishes gradually over several days before running a full cycle.
Another feature called Purify Pro-Light continues the sanitising process after the main wash has finished. The two-hour phase operates without using additional water and can reduce bacteria by up to 93 per cent, extending the hygiene process beyond the standard wash programme.
The range also includes a Baby Care setting intended for items that require a higher level of cleanliness, such as baby bottles and plastic containers. These materials can deteriorate when exposed repeatedly to high-temperature wash cycles and may also be affected by some UV-based sanitising methods. Haier’s approach applies the same visible light technology to help maintain hygiene while avoiding excessive heat.
Haier is releasing the I-Pro Shine line in three model tiers. The Series 5 is offered as a freestanding dishwasher, while the Series 6 is designed as a fully integrated unit that fits within kitchen cabinetry. The Series 7 expands the line-up with another freestanding model aimed at higher-end specifications.
The I-Pro Shine Biovitae Collection is currently listed on the Haier UK website across the Series 5, Series 6 and Series 7 models. Australian release dates haven’t been confirmed.
