Hisense Australia is to keep naming rights sponsor for the Hisense Arena until 2017 and has just signed a new deal with Tennis Australia.
The Chinese brand has also extended its sponsorship of Australian Open as official TV and refrigeration supplier until 2017, it announced.
Hisense Arena in Melbourne plays host to many successful entertainment and sporting events and the sponsorship deals makes sense, considering the company is based in the city.
Specific “activations” to bring the brand closer to the fans that walk through the arena will be announced in the coming months.
When the agreement for naming rights to Hisense Arena was first signed, the Chinese tech company was unheard of.
Established in 2006, Hisense Australia has grown its business massively, jolting the tech market when it launched a lower cost LCD, Ultra HD TVs and appliances.
It is the third most sold Smart TV in Australia with just under 10% of the market, latest GFK data shows.
Recently, the brand launched a super affordable Android $99 tablet and is tipped to unleash several new products in the coming months.
Hisense are available in over 80% of retailers nationally including JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Myer.
