Google To Unveil Pixel 5, New Smart Speaker September 30

Google is set to unveil its next-generation Pixel 5 smartphone and a new smart speaker on September 30, following leaked media invitations for a virtual event.

“We invite you to learn all about our new Chromecast, our latest smart speaker, and our new Pixel phones,” reads the media invitation.

Products are set to include a new Google Chromecast, plus a new ‘Nest’ branded smart speaker. The later is tipped to stand vertically and sit between the Nest Mini and larger Google Home Max.

The internet has been plagued with leaked images of what appears to be a new Chromecast Android TV dongle, complete with an accompanying remote.

The news follows the unveiling of Google’s new Pixel 4A, which whose launch was reportedly delayed due to the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
