Google Sending New Chrome OS Flex To Mac And PC
Google are giving early access to a new version of Chrome OS called Chrome OS Flex, designed for PCs and Macs and aimed at schools and businesses.
In a blog post, Google say it can be installed “within minutes”, and that Flex will look and feel identical to Chrome OS on a Chromebook, as it’s built from the same code.
Still, it may be dependent on the hardware you’re rolling with.
Google recently absorbed Neverware, who sold an app called CloudReady. That application allowed users to convert PCs into Chrome OS systems.
Since then, Google says, “We have been hard at work integrating the benefits of CloudReady into a new version of Chrome OS.”
It appears they have now made their first step.
