Google Dumps Tablet Business

Google has ditched its tablet business, including removal of the “Tablets” heading from its Android page.

The company has struggled to make Android a convincing alternative to iOS in the tablet realm and now appears to be concentrating its efforts on Chrome OS models.

Google tablet sales have dropped considerably as the device face increases market competition from the likes of the iPad and the move to smartphones.

Android tablets will still be made by Samsung, Amazon and others, but Google has, as they say, left the building.
