Google Chrome To Block Annoying Autoplay Videos With Sound

Google has listened to its users prayers issuing a fix in its next Google Chrome update where it will stop videos from automatically playing audio when you open a new window or tab.

In a blog post Google says, “As announced earlier, autoplay is now allowed only when either the media won’t play sound, after the user clicks or taps on the site, or (on desktop) if the user has previously shown an interest in media on the site. This will reduce unexpected video playbacks with sound when first opening a web page.’

The next update will be version 66, The Verge reports the version 64 update also had an autoplay update where users could permanently mute websites that constantly have loud autoplay videos.

Version 66 should be released next month. Read more about the Chrome 66 beta here.
