Gemini is powering a new generation of Android intelligence, with Google rolling out advanced AI features across the Samsung Galaxy S26 series and its own Pixel 10 lineup.

Announced alongside Samsung’s latest flagship launch, the updates deepen Gemini’s integration into Android, expanding its capabilities from conversational responses to task execution, visual search and real-time scam detection.

The most significant addition is a new task automation feature within the Gemini app. Launching first in beta in the US and Korea, it allows users to hand off multi-step actions such as booking a rideshare or preparing a grocery order.

By long-pressing the side button and issuing a command, users can ask Gemini to organise a ride, reorder a previous meal or build a cart in supported apps. Early compatibility includes select food delivery, grocery and rideshare services.

Gemini runs these apps in a secure virtual window, navigating menus and filling in details while the user continues using their phone. Live updates appear via notifications, and users can step in or cancel before final confirmation or payment.

The feature is available at launch on the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 devices, signalling Google’s push into so-called “agentic” AI on smartphones.

Circle to Search is also getting a major upgrade on both device families. The enhanced tool can now identify and search for multiple objects within a single image.

For example, users can circle an entire outfit on social media and receive results for each item, from jackets to shoes, rather than just one piece. Integrated virtual “try on” tools allow users to upload a photo and preview how selected clothing might look on them.

Beyond shopping, the feature can surface contextual insights about multiple elements within photos, powered by Gemini’s latest multimodal models.

Google is also expanding on-device Scam Detection. On the Galaxy S26, the Samsung Phone app can analyse calls in real time and issue alerts if speech patterns commonly associated with scammers are detected.

The feature is launching in English in the US, while similar protections in Google Messages are expanding across additional markets.

Processing occurs entirely on-device for privacy, and call detection is disabled for saved contacts by default.
