Gaming, Notebooks Drive Acer Jan Revenues To Eight-Year Record
Acer has hit an eight-year high in its January consolidated revenue reports, bringing in NT$23.5 billion (AU$1.08 billion).
The figure represents a 73.4 per cent increase year-on-year, and was driven by huge growth in the Chromebook division (up 361.4 per cent year on year); thin and light notebooks (up 313.5 per cent); and gaming (up 112.8 per cent; within that, the ConceptD line for creators was up 247 per cent).
The growth is a turnaround from January 2020, which saw consolidated revenue drop 18.6 per cent over the year before to just NT$13.55 billion.
The Taiwanese manufacturer unveiled a slew of new products at CES 2021, including new gaming notebooks and monitors. High demand for notebooks saw sales for Acer climb 119 per cent in the US last year.
