Galaxy S7 Update Integrates Note 7 Features

Samsung has begun to roll some of the software upgrades offered by the Note 7 into their Galaxy S7 handset.

Reports by users of both the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge say a new software update has seen users gain access to the customisable Always-On Display function originally introduced with the Note 7.

It’s a notable value-add to both devices and one that ensures they’ll remain a strong competitor to Google’s own Pixel phones over the holiday season.

Unfortunately, there have also been some reports of the update causing issues with email notification functionality.

If nothing else, it’s an interesting silver lining to the debacle surrounding the Note 7.

ChannelNews reached out to Samsung’s PR team for comment but received no indication as to whether any further Note 7 features will be forthcoming.
