Samsung’s New Boss Revealed

SamsungSamsung announces Mr. Jae Hoon Kwon as its new Managing Director for Australia.

The former MD of Samsung Malaysia has a background in appliances and is a consumer electronics veteran.

Kwon is replacing Samsung’s former Aussie MD, SR Yoon, who has returned to company HQ in Korea to take up a role within Digital Appliances.  No reason was given for his depature.

Kwon has worked for Samsung since 2011.

He previously served as MD of Samsung Malaysia, and Asia Sales and Marketing Group Leader in the Digital Appliances.
A consumer electronics veteran, he has more than 20 years of expertise in at both managerial, sales and marketing levels – handy since appliances is one of Samsung’s strongest divisions, and a growing category in an otherwise flat electronics sector.
He will be based in Sydney, and will oversee the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the business here. Kwon says he is looking forward to leading Samsung, the worlds biggest mobile maker, to “even greater heights.”
“I am very excited to be joining an exceptionally talented team that has taken the Samsung brand from strength-to-strength in this market. This year promises to be yet another year of impressive innovation for Samsung.”
