Playing flagship to the company’s Imagine range, the T2 is a transitional five-way, full range tower that is influenced by the company’s top-of-the-line Synchrony One, borrowing its triple port bass reflex and subdivided discrete chambers.
Three custom 5.25 inch drivers occupy their own sealed chamber and are joined by a 4 inch midrange driver and a 1 inch dome tweeter, all of which dominate the speaker’s façade. The third woofer helps produced bass as deep as 34Hz and is capable of handling 50 per cent more power than its predecessor at 300 watts.
“The Imagine Series has been one of our most popular ranges to date, especially for its solid price to performance ratio which means exceptional value. So we clearly knew that designing a new Imagine flagship would come with high expectations,” commented Paul Barton, Founder and Chief Designer of PSB Speakers.
“With T2, I incorporated our latest design knowhow, along with two additional drivers in a taller cabinet, for deeper bass, a larger soundstage and increased power handling. Yet, all of this is achieved with the same, compact footprint as our Imagine T.”
An elegant and understated design conceals five-way gold plated binding posts for bi-amping or bi-wiring, adjustable spikes for installation and a single port plug that can be assigned to one of three rear ports.
The imagine series is known for its “clear midrange presence, uncluttered bass, smooth extended highs, and high-power handling” and PSB claim the T2 is a faithful range-topping addition.
