EXCLUSIVE: LG Marketing Boss Talks About Warner Dumping

David Warner who was hired to promote LG air conditioners and before that OLED TV’s is now blowing hot air, after LG moved to terminate his contract with the Korean Company.

In an exclusive interview with ChannelNews the General Manager of LG Marketing Angus Jones said that LG made the decision as soon as the Australian Cricket Board confirmed that Warner had been identified as having been involved in a decision to tamper with the ball in the third Test match in South Africa.

Jones said that LG adhered to strict principles “One of those principles is fair competition” he said.

“we believe in family values” and the actions of the Australian cricketers did not meet our high standards.

Jones said that Warners contract was due to expire shortly.

He said that he was hired to promote the Companies air conditioners as part of his current contract and in the past had promoted the Companies OLED TV’s in the past.

Jones said that he spoke to the Australian Cricket Board when the issue arose and subsequently Warners agents, Entourage who are based in Sydney.

Early this morning Entourage were advised that Warners association with LG was over.

An official statement that was only issued to journalists who requested it following our exclusive story this morning said, “LG Australia will always look to work with ambassadors that share our core brand values and we take these relationships incredibly seriously to ensure we put our customers, employees and stakeholders first,” the company said.

Jones told ChannelNews that at this stage LG Electronics was not hiring a replacement ambassador for Warner.
