EXCLUSIVE: Amazon Advertise Management Jobs Galore For New OZ Operation

Amazon has cranked up their Australian operation, which according to sources could see their first warehousing headquartered in Dandenong South Victoria.

Currently the US online retailer is looking to recruit managers for their new Australian operation across several key categories.

They are currently advertising for a General Manager of ‘Digital Music’ they are also looking for a “Senior Record Label” relationship Manager as well as a “Music Curator Manager” a move that could see Amazon target directly JB Hi Fi’s music and video business.

Another key role being advertised is for a “PR Manager Australian Operations” who will be based in Dandenong South according to recruitment advertising seen by ChannelNews.

According to one US source the Company is looking at initially only operating in Sydney and Melbourne for immediate delivery or same day service before they expand to a national operation in 2018.

Other Australian positions the Company is looking to fill are for a Manager of Business Affairs as well as a person to head the recruitment of businesses to their Marketplace operations.

Amazon have also placed an advertisement for a Program Manager to join the” Restricted Products” team based at their Sydney, Australia office, in this role the person chosen will run the “Restricted Products Program which ensures the safety, customer trust, and compliance of the Amazon websites”.

The advertisement claims that the Restricted Program Manager position will help manage the RP Program in Australia and coordinate the operational workflow regarding a variety of program tasks, including: Offensive Products, Cross-Border Requirements, Regulatory Initiatives, and other Restricted Products Projects.

Amazon claim that this position is crucial to design and implement new processes, help improving existing processes, and assisting with general program and operations management”.

Amazon is also looking for a Director, Mobile Business Development for Asia Pacific.

They will help the Company to grow their mobile business through the creation and management of strategic partnerships. The role will focus on creating partnerships with mobile network operators and handset manufacturers for distribution and engagement with Amazon mobile offerings (Shopping, Video, Music and Kindle applications) as well as other Amazon services.

In one advertisement Amazon said ‘Amazon has recently announced its expansion in Australia and we are looking for a bright and ambitious individual to join our team to drive its new Seller development business. This person will manage the business that is focused on acquiring new merchants to sell on Amazon, and to help the merchants succeed”.

“As New Seller Development Manager you will have the opportunity to develop and execute the strategy to enable growth for new sellers, identifying key drivers and restrainers, developing the strategy to address both, and taking ideas from concept to delivery. To achieve this, you will engage with local teams and international technical teams to implement your ideas”

ChannelNews has been told by US sources that the Company will initially only launch a same day short delivery service in Sydney and Melbourne and that stock will be sourced from existing distributors of key branded products.
