Denon Unveils New Compact Soundbar

Denon has launched its latest compact soundbar offering, the Sound Bar 550, which supports both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.

Measuring at just under 66 centimetres in length, the four-channel Sound Bar 550 packs in two 0.75-inch tweeters, four two-inch full-range drivers, and three passive radiators. Its Denon HEOS multi-room capability means it can also be paired with other HEOS-enabled Denon speakers and subwoofers.

Aside from HEOS, the Sound Bar 550’s connectivity options include Bluetooth; wi-fi 2.4 and 5GHz; 4K HDMI with eARC; Ethernet; USB; and digital optical and 3.5mm audio. Supported streaming services through HEOS include Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal.

A remote control will be included, and Denon has indicated that the built-in microphone will be usable for Alexa voice control following a firmware update later this year.

The Sound Bar 550 is set to be released in the US in February for $599 USD, and will reach Australia in May through QualiFi for $999 AUD.
