Dell is bringing back its XPS 13 nameplate with a redesigned laptop that aims to combine premium features with a more accessible price point.

The new model measures just 12.7mm thick and weighs approximately 1kg, making it one of the lightest and most compact XPS laptops the company has produced. Despite its slim profile, Dell has retained several features traditionally associated with higher-end notebooks, including a CNC-machined aluminium chassis, quad-speaker audio system and support for Wi-Fi 7.

Pricing starts at around A$920 for students and A$1,075 for standard retail customers, positioning the laptop as a more affordable alternative to many premium ultraportables. Entry-level models include an Intel Core Series 3 processor, 8GB of memory and 512GB of storage, while higher-spec configurations can be equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors, up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

A key selling point is the 2.5K touchscreen display, which supports a 120Hz refresh rate and covers 100 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The laptop also includes a backlit keyboard, dual USB-C ports and a webcam with Windows Hello support.

Dell expects the first models to become available in June, with additional configurations arriving in the following months.
