Clearbox Scores $12m Deal To Clear Satellite Systems
CANBERRA: Clearbox Systems which designs and implements remote control systems for satellites and ground stations, has won a $12.1 million contract with the Defence Department.
The multi-year contract, which includes options for extension, will see Clearbox Systems provide remote, centralised operation of Defence’s SATCOM ground and space assets in Australia and abroad.
SATCOM capabilities currently operate in ‘silos’, meaning operators have to navigate through multiple systems to complete tasks.
Clearbox’s technology will integrate the silos enabling SATCOM to grow bandwidth and make more efficient use of radio frequency resources.
The company says it is providing locally developed products, specialist software engineering, integration and cyber security services.
Work on the project is currently being conducted out of Clearbox Systems’ secure facilities in Sydney and Canberra.
