AirPods fans, there’s excitement on the horizon – but it seems we’ve all got to wait until late 2024 or even early 2025 for the AirPods Max 2 and cheaper iteration the AirPods Lite, and, as expected, supply chain issues are to blame.
Industry pundits also say 2023 is looking like a small year for Apple announcements due to their VR/AR headset hogging the limelight.
At this point it’s still unclear as to what extra features the AirPods Max 2 will be serving up, and speculation as to the rumoured cheaper release of the now ubiquitous AirPods, the AirPods Lite, hasn’t offered any talk of new and improved extra features. Industry chat seems to point to them just being a cheaper, lighter pair of AirPods Max.
As for the AirPods Max 2, common belief is they’ll roll out with touch controls and upgraded hardware, so we’re expecting an upgrade to the existing h1 chip as well as precision finding capability like in Apple AirTags, as well as boosts in design and Audio tech.
Still, as is the way with upcoming products from notoriously secretive computing giants Apple, leaked info at the moment is rather conflicting, so it’s just a matter of waiting until they pull out the fireworks and cocktails for a proper announcement.
