MSI has showcased its new range of laptops for gamers and content creators, powered by the newest Intel processors and Nvidia GeForce RTX 30-series laptop GPUs and billed as “metaverse-ready”.
The new laptops with the “Meta-Ready” logo each feature 12th-generation Intel mobile processors, as well as Nvidia RTX 3070 mobile graphics and above, including options for the new RTX 3080i laptop GPUs.
According to MSI, the RTX 3080Ti and 3070Ti outperform the desktop TITAN RTX and laptop RTX 2070 SUPER graphics cards respectively, while the new Intel CPUs provide performance increases of 30 to 45 per cent over the previous generation, and come with MSI’s new Phase Change Liquid Metal Pad cooling system.
“MSI’s new Gaming and Content Creation series provide persistently powerful performance, innovative thermal solutions, and a bevy of new features, with MSI’s signature aesthetic touch,” the manufacturer said.
The gaming lineup includes MSI’s newest GE76/66 Raider series, the manufacturer’s main “powerhouse” laptops, with panoramic aurora lighting and up to a total of 220W performance with GeForce RTX 3080 Ti via MSI OverBoost; performance is increased by an extra 10 per cent via the new cooling system, and the Raider comes equipped with displays up to 4K resolution.
Also on offer is the newest GS77/66 Stealth series. Designed for gamers and professionals alike, the GS77 comes in a new black colour with a more durable zinc alloy hinge, larger touchpad and keycaps, and six speakers; for business gamers, MSI has included a webcam lock switch and up to 100W PD charging.
Partnering with gaming giant Ubisoft, MSI’s new Crosshair GL series features Intel Core i9 processors, Cooler Boost 5 technology, sci-fi design elements, and maximised graphics performance. It comes in three models: the Crosshair 15, Crosshair 17, and limited Crosshair 15 Rainbow Six Extraction edition with exclusive bundle.
Other new laptops in MSI’s gaming range include the high-performance Vector GP76/66 for gaming, engineering, or scientific computing; the Pulse GL76/66 with design features by Maarten Verhoeven; and the Sword 17/15 and Katana GF76/66 series.
Alongside the gaming laptops, MSI has released its new Creator series with panels up to 17 inches.
“The overall CPU performance is improved 45% with the new Vapor Chamber Cooler, and MSI has added features for content creators such as touch support for MSI Pen, Calman verified True Pixel Display, and collaboration with DTS for a rich, immersive surround sound experience,” the manufacturer said.
The new Creator laptops include the high-powered Creator Z17, Creator Z16P and Creator Z16. Each features a 16:10 display, with the Z17 also billed as the first 17-inch laptop with pen support; alongside the Z-series is the Creator M16, designed as a more portable option for students and creatives.
