Camera Stabilisation Bug In Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a 6.8″display, 12GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 For Galaxy processor. But one of the most powerful phones around also appears to have a weird stabilisation bug interfering with its camera.
The S23 Ultra has a terrific set of cameras, with reviews working heavily on the algorithms to give consumers notable results, with the OIS (Optimal Image Stabilisation) improved greatly compared to the phone’s predecessor, which means clearer images.
But some users are reporting a new bug which stops the tech functioning as intended, with videos coming out shaky as a result of poor stabilisation.
This is also noticeable when taking a picture, though it is less notable in portrait mode, and sometimes it is the opposite, with the stabilisation appearing good in video mode but not in photo mode.

Resetting the camera seems to help, though when you close and reopen the camera app the problem reappears. This also seems to be most common when taking snaps in low light or at night, which is when OIS should work hardest to minimise blur and noise levels.
As a result, consumers are becoming annoyed as they are not obtaining the best images possible, even when trying to use advanced features such as OIS, which is intended to deliver increased image quality in those conditions.
There have also been reports of the device heating up while using the cameras.
