Belkin Apple AirPower Rival Lands In Oz

With no official word on Apple’s perennially delayed AirPower charging mat, Belkin has released its rival BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Dock for iPhone and Apple Watch in Australia (A$249.95).

Like Apple’s AirPower, Belkin’s device claims to wirelessly charge an iPhone and Apple Watch simultaneously, with an additional 5W USB-A port to power a third item (e.g. iPad, AirPods or power banks).

The 3-in-1 dock is said to be specifically enhanced for the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 8/8 Plus and Apple Watch Series 4.

In either black or white, the product is available from several Australia retailers including JB Hi-Fi, with a special edition version at Apple Stores.

The dock incorporates a 7.5W wireless charging pad which pledges to charge an iPhone via the fastest possible wireless speed. The built-in magnetic charging module caters to the Apple Watch.

With a dedicated nightstand mode for the Apple Watch, the dock places the device at an optimal viewing angle to set an alarm clock whilst charging.

Erasing cable clutter from a nightstand, desk or kitchen counter, the dock powers up to three devices from a single outlet.

Further information is available from Belkin or Apple’s website.
