Beats Gives Its Pill Speaker A Pokémon Makeover With Pikachu And Mimikyu
Beats has joined forces with Pokémon to launch a special-edition version of its popular Beats Pill portable speaker, featuring two of the franchise’s most recognisable characters, Pikachu and Mimikyu.
Launching on October 15 in the US, the limited-edition speaker features a distinctive grey finish, with Pikachu and a greyscale Mimikyu displayed across the front grille. Raised lightning bolt detailing adds another Pokémon-inspired touch, giving the familiar speaker a fresh appearance without changing its internal hardware.
The collaboration also extends to the packaging, which features Pikachu and Mimikyu’s ears protruding from the box. The playful design makes the packaging a collectable display piece in its own right.
Beats is also introducing lanyard charms for the Pill for the first time. Buyers will receive three Pokémon-themed accessories, including a Poké Ball, a lightning bolt and the signature Beats ‘b’ logo, allowing them to personalise their speaker.

Underneath the new design, the special-edition model retains the same features as the Beats Pill relaunched in 2024. These include up to 24 hours of battery life and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for use around the home or outdoors.
The speaker is compatible with both Apple and Android devices and features USB-C connectivity, which supports lossless audio playback when connected to a compatible source.
The partnership brings together two characters from different generations of the Pokémon franchise. Pikachu has been the franchise’s mascot since its debut in 1996, while Mimikyu was introduced in 2016 and is best known for wearing a Pikachu-inspired disguise in an attempt to make friends.
Despite its exclusive appearance and additional accessories, the Pokémon Beats Pill carries the same US$149 price tag as the standard version.
Australian pricing and availability have not been confirmed.
