Battle Looms On E-Sport Mega-Bucks

So, you think your kids are wasting their time playing computer games all day? Well, what if one day they come home with US$100 million?

That’s how much Epic Games the e-sport publisher is offering in prizes for players of Fortnite, now the biggest global e-sport in terms of prize money.

In a bid to dominate the e-sport sector, Epic Games will provide $100 million to fund prize pools for Fortnite tournaments during the first year of competition.

Unveiled late last year, Battle-Royale mode for Fortnite allows up to 100 online players to fight each other to the death until only one player survives.

Epic Games says the game has been played by more than 45 million people worldwide.
