Audio Streaming Demand Booms

On-demand audio streaming business is booming in the US, according to a new report from research group Nielsen. The report found a significant increase in consumers’ use of streaming services and record numbers of streams being served.

The study included non-music streams like spoken word recordings and podcasts.

On-demand audio has been streamed more than 184 billion times so far in 2017, a 62.4 percent increase over the same period last year. Combined on-demand audio and video streams have surpassed 284 billion streams this year, an increase of 36.4 percent.
