Asus is set to roll out a 6K LCD monitors with Thunderbolt 4 or 5 in September, while LG has been exposed as misleading media in the spruiking of their offering at CES 2025.

Thee Asus offering is an IPS LCD monitors with 6K resolution the new offering is just one of several new premium monitors hitting the market.

 

Apple launched the first one way back in 2019 and Dell followed in 2023.

The new Asus offering is designed for use with Apple macOS, and Windows PCs it has 6K resolution at 32 inches diagonally.

Listed with a “maximum” contrast ratio of 3000:1, it operates at 60Hz and deliver 98% DCI-P3.

The Asus PA32QCV also features Thunderbolt 4.

LG who is also pushing a new 6K monitor was recently exposed for dodgy marketing by US website Flatpanels HD.

It’s now been revealed that the ultra-slim bezels depicted in LG’s marketing photos used in their CES spruiking of the monitor were not real and appear to be another dodgy Photoshop AI exercise.

The actual monitor still has quite visible inner bezels.

FlatpanelsHD questioned the accuracy of the photo claiming that LG’s monitor division had habit of being “generous” with their claims.

That’s another word for lying.
