Apple Ultra IPhone Launch Tipped
Apple has hinted at launching a more expensive line of phones, as if the current range is not expensive enough.
If accurate, a new type of iPhone will start rolling out this year after previous iPhone 12 mini, 13 mini and 14 Plus models failed commercially.
The report came from a Tim Cook statement during an investment earnings call last week when he noted that Apple’s customers were more likely to pay for higher-specifications iPhones than ever before.
“I think people are willing to really stretch to get the best they can afford in that category,” he said.
Gurman related this to earlier reports of a rumoured iPhone 15 Ultra launch along with next iPhone line-up.
While Samsung seems to have a monopoly on the Ultra name when it comes to phones, Apple too offers Watch Ultra. Apple’s adoption of flagship phone features like high-resolution cameras, high refresh rate displays, and an always-on display, makes sense to push for Ultra-style phones.
Cook noted that iPhone fans are ready to fork out more for the costliest models, dominating Apple sales.
We will see how this pans out. If the new Ultra iPhone really is coming, it’ll likely arrive with the iPhone 15 later this year.
