Apple To Apply Hole-Display For All Models Of IPhone 15
Word through the industry is Apple are planning to use hole-display across all four models of the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
Put simply, hole-display leaves a hole in the display panel where the front camera sits, so the company can place more screens compared to notches.
Two models – the Pro and Pro Max – of the latest iPhone 14 series utilise this tech. As a result, these models have a Dynamic Island, with two holes – one for the front camera and one for Face ID.
Now, all four iterations of the iPhone 15 are expected to roll out with the Dynamic Island feature.
Samsung Display – who provide Apple with their OLED panels – recently bought more laser-etching equipment from Philoptics to punch holes in their displays.
Apple still haven’t applied under-panel face ID tech , and word is it won’t feature on the iPhone 15 either, though it will likely be a part of iterations to come after that.
Samsung already roll out their premium phones with under-panel tech. This is an upgrade from hole-displays, where the hole is currently covered with screen when the component under it isn’t in play.
