Apple Tipped To Launch Three 5G iPhones In 2020

Renowned Apple commentator, Ming-Chi Kuo, expects all three 2020 iPhones to be 5G-compatible, complementing several other significant re-designs.

The news follows Apple’s US$1 billion purchase of Intel’s smartphone modem business, just months after it settled with component giant, Qualcomm, over a multi-year licensing deal.

Commentators claim the acquisition will significantly spearhead Apple’s 5G phone efforts, following concern Intel’s in-house development was lagging behind.

According to Kuo, 2020 iPhones will feature a new 6.7-inch, 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch screen size.

All three phones are tipped to boast OLED screens (not LCD like some of the current stable).

5G handsets are set to significantly gain traction in the next twelve months, with the likes of Samsung, LG and Oppo already launching a 5G model into the Australian market.

Kuo claims Apple is also developing a 5G handset made specifically for the Chinese market, supporting only sub-6GHz spectrum – resulting in a cheaper end price.
