Apple Promises iPhone Overhaul On Smartphone 10th Anniversary

Ten years after Steve Jobs held up the original iPhone to a cheering crowd in San Francisco, Apple is said to be planning its most extensive iPhone line-up to date. The latest model iPhone is tipped to come with an all-screen front, curved glass and a stainless steel frame alongside upgrades to the current models.

Apple is believed to be preparing three iPhones for launch later this year, including upgraded versions of the current two models and a new top-of-the-line handset.

The iPhone is Apple’s most important product, representing about two-thirds of its sales. It also leads customers to buy other Apple devices like the iPad and Apple Watch, and serves as a home for lucrative services like the App Store.

For the premium model, Apple is said to be testing a screen that covers almost the entire front of the device.

Cupertino is also said to be aiming to reduce the overall size of the handset by integrating the home button into the screen itself, via software similar to Samsung’s S8.

The new iPhone is tipped to use an organic light-emitting diode display that shows more accurate colours.
