Apple Music Lossless Is Coming To HomePod And HomePod Mini

Apple seems to have backflipped on early declarations that the HomePod would not support its new Lossless Audio format.

An updated support document says: “HomePod and HomePod mini currently use AAC to ensure excellent audio quality. Support for lossless is coming in a future software update.”

Lossless will still not be available for the AirPods, as Bluetooth connections cannot support the audio format.

HomePods can be paired for stereo sound, which makes this latest announcement even more exciting for audiophiles.
