Apple Improves iPadOS Multitasking With Pro Features
Apple have sought to bolster the multitasking capabilities of their iPad with a range of new pro features and keyboard shortcuts, not unlike you would find on a laptop.
iPadOS is getting it’s very own customized toolbars, as well as a Find-and-Replace feature for easy document editing and duplicate file controls.
The key feature of the new iPadOS update is the new Stage Manager, which boasts a new and improved multitasking interface, allowing users to resize windows and operate multiple at once. This was a highly speculated feature and looks to be designed to take on the laptop as a core work machine. In addition, users are able to adjust display density and thus see more on their screen.
Apple have also improved cooperative work with a new Collaborate feature, allowing for users to communicate with each other whilst working on content, while the new FreeForm feature allows for easy brainstorming with drawing and sticky notes.
Apple are looking to not only take on laptops but capitalize further on the rapidly growing mobile gaming market with Metal 3, software that will allow AAA games, such as Resident Evil: Village to run on Mac and apparently iPad.
This is a massive change in the gaming world as Apple products are known for their poor gaming capabilities and lack of compatibility. According to the announcement, Metal 3 will allow “every new Mac to run AAA games with ease.” In addition, Apple are adding SharePlay support and a new Activity screen in Game Centre.
