According to a report by 9to5Mac, shipments of Apple MacBook Pro’s and other products have been delayed further, leaving customers disappointed.

The current MacBook Pro was launched late last year and immediately met with shipment issues due to a lack of supply.

Earlier this month, 9to5Mac reported that orders for MacBook Pros from February were being delayed until July, but have since added that other products including the Mac Studio, the Studio Display and the iMac are also facing delays.

9to5Mac believes that the Cupertino based tech giant may be facing supply issues specifically with their mini-LED technology.

Taiwanese company Epistar were originally the main supplier of mini-LED technology, but as Apple sought to expand on their range of products using the tech, they sought out more suppliers, such as Quanta.

Quanta, based in Shanghai, is being affected by the strict Chinese lockdowns that are affecting many parts of the tech supply chain. The company were developing the chips for the upcoming mini-LED Apple monitor that was to be an upgrade over the Studio Display.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is prepared to lose up to $8 billion as a result of the delays.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has said that MacBook Pro 14-inch and 16-inch models are likely to be delayed until early August, alongside the iMac and Apple Pro Display XDR, with the former available both instore and for delivery, while the latter will only be for delivery. He also believes the Mac Studio will arrive in late August and the Studio Display will arrive sometime during the month.

Gurman also said that Apple’s new range is soon to be addressed at the company’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) between June 6 to 10. The company will likely focus on iOS 16, iPadOS 16, watchOS 9, tvOS 16 and macOS 13 on the first day and hardware in following days. It is currently unknown if they will address the shipping issues.

9to5Mac have said that currently, the easiest models to purchase are the 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro and the M1 MacBook Pro Air, however custom configurations may increase delay times by a month.
