Amazon Offers Free Echo Dot Ahead Of Prime Day

Amazon Australia is providing buyers a free Echo Dot with purchases of its standard Echo smart speaker ($149) – a promotion which is valid until its inaugural Prime Day on July 16th.

As noticed by Ausdroid, consumers can receive the free Echo Dot ($49) on standard Echo speaker purchases, despite the listing URL mentioning ‘PrimeDay’.

As such, buyers do not have to be Amazon Prime members to access the promo, and can simply click ‘Add to Cart’ for the free device.

Available now, the free Echo Dot promotion will reportedly remain valid until the day before Prime Day (i.e. valid until 11:59pm 15th of July).

Amazon’s Echo smart speaker is its standard base model (in either Sandstone, Charcoal or Heather Grey), and is joined by the smaller Echo Spot or larger Echo Plus.

As previously reported, Prime Day is considered one of Amazon’s most lucrative sales days, and the e-commerce giant claims it’s never offered as many deals on launch before.

“Prime members in Australia have access to the widest selection of Prime benefits at launch for any country ever,” states Amazon Australia.

The sale frenzy provides several exclusive discounts to Aussie Amazon Prime members, and lasts until midnight (AEST) on July 17th. Explicit sales information is said to be provided on July 16th.
