amaysim Launches Optus Powered 5G Service

amaysim has announced that it will be launching 5G services, making it one of the first Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) to do so.

The new 5G plan, which launches in November, will run off of the Optus Network, which has been regarded as ‘Australia’s fastest 5G network for download speeds’ by Opensignal. As a result, customers can expect high-speed downloads and reduced latency in high traffic areas.

“5G is without a doubt the next step in mobile technology,” says Head of amaysim Renee Garner.

“As such, we’re thrilled to be one of the first MVNOs to offer our amaysim customers an enhanced mobile experience with access to supercharged download speeds and greater reliability.”

In addition, Optus Head of 5G Harvey Write says “Optus continues to offer customers great value 5G on its postpaid and prepaid plans, like the $60 for 60GB prepaid plan, and we are excited to now welcome amaysim onto the Optus 5G network”.

The new plan will launch in November and will be available for anyone with a 5G compatible device. For only $55, customers will get Optus 5G and 4G network coverage, as well as 60GB of data, unlimited data banking, unlimited standard talk and text and unlimited standard international calls to 42 destinations, all with no lock-in contract.
