Alibaba Figures Raise Doubts

China’s Alibaba has reported a whopping US$17.8 billion of sales during its online shopping bonanza Singles’ Day – which sold goods and services from across the world, including Australia

However US investors and analysts have become increasingly sceptical of the Alibaba number,s which are not defined under accounting standards and do not include product returns.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is currently investigating how the e-commerce giant reports numbers.
