Chinese computing giant Lenovo is launching five new ThinkPads — ThinkPad P73, ThinkPad P1 Gen 2, ThinkPad P53s, ThinkPad P43s, and its most powerful 15-inch mobile workstation, the ThinkPad P53 — to its next-gen ThinkPad P Series. Local pricing and availability to be confirmed.
Lenovo is claiming its ThinkPad P53 is its most powerful yet, with NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPU with RT and Tensor cores for real-time ray tracing and AI acceleration.
It has the latest Intel Xeon and 9th Gen Core class CPU with up to eight cores, including the Core i9.
Boasting a 35% smaller power supply, up to 128GB of memory, 6TB of storage and an OLED Touch display with Dolby Vision HDR.
ThinkPad P53
ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 is Lenovo’s thinnest and lightest 15-inch workstation at only 1.7kg and 17.2mm thin.
It features a carbon fibre finish with a 4K UHD OLED Touch display panel with Dolby Vision HDR.
The P1 Gen 2 is powered by eight-core Intel Xeon and 9th Gen Core CPUs and runs NVIDIA Quadro Turing T1000 and T2000 GPUs.

Lenovo is also introducing a bigger and better “workhorse”, the upgraded ThinkPad P73 which runs up to NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 with Intel Xeon and 9th Gen Core class CPUs.
Consumers can enjoy more screen real estate with the 17.3-inch Dolby Vision 4K UHD screen.
Like the P53 is also has a 35% smaller power adapter for increased mobility.
Finishing off the new portfolio is the 14-inch ThinkPad P43s and the ThinkPad P53s which both offer NVIDIA Quadro graphics and Intel Core processors.
The ThinkPad P53 is set for a July launch from US$1799, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 2 will be available at the end of June from US$1949, whereas the ThinkPad P73 will be available in August, from 849, and the ThinkPad P53s and ThinkPad P43s will be available in June and July, respectively, starting at US$1499.

Despite dwindling US-China trade relations, the computing manufacturer recently reported strong PC sales growth which pushed the company’s quarterly profits to $118 million, far exceeding analyst expectations.
It remains unaffected by the US clampdown on Huawei, but reportedly has contingency plans to move production out of China if needs be.
