![]() LG has today confirmed it will be making a limited quantity of samples of the VR for G3 available to existing and new purchasers of the G3. Commencing in March, the VR for G3 units will become available in Australia, with LG to distribute a quantity of units to existing G3 owners, with selected new purchasers of the G3 to receive the headset when they make the purchase through selected retail partners. Based on Google’s Cardboard virtual reality design, the headset is built with durable plastic, and operates by inserting the Quad HD display G3 into the viewer. It employs the G3’s rear key layout, with the G3’s 1 W speaker providing “richer, clearer sound effects that complement the rich visuals”, and includes a ring magnet on the side which works with the G3’s magnetic gyroscope sensor, allowing users to select applications and scroll through menus without touching the display. Compatible apps and games can be downloaded via the Google Play store LG has stated the retail offer details will be announced shortly. |
