Presto Line-Up To Feature Series From HBO And Showtime
Last week, it was revealed Presto Entertainment will feature content from both Foxtel and Seven’s locally commissioned and internationally acquired content, with today’s announcement throwing further light on the make-up of its content offerings.
HBO programs including The Sopranos, Entourage, The Wire, True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Girls, Veep, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, The Newsroom, Six Feet Under, Hung and Big Love will feature as part of Presto Entertainment’s line-up. Subscribers will also have access to Showtime series Dexter, The Borgias, Californication, Deadwood, Ray Donovan, Brotherhood and Nurse Jackie. Presto Entertainment, which will complement the existing Presto Movies service, is yet to confirm a launch date, with pricing to be confirmed closer to launch. There’ll be no shortage of competition in the digital content market next year, with Netflix set to land in Australia in March, and Stan, the product of a Nine Entertainment Co. and Fairfax Media joint venture, also likely to launch early in the year. Shaun James, Presto and Video on Demand director, stated the new service is “pulling out all the stops” to put together a “compelling line-up of television content” for when it goes live, adding Australians “will see these hit shows first, and in HBO’s case exclusively, on Presto”. More announcements on Presto Entertainment’s content line-up are set to be made in the coming weeks. |
