The auto downloads have led to a backlash from Windows users angry that they are taking up so much space.
Windows 10 will not install until the user accepts a prompt to do so, but Microsoft said individuals who have chosen to receive automatic updates will receive Windows 10 download files they’ll need if they decide to upgrade.
This means that it will sit on the user’s hard drive, taking up space even if they have no intention of ever upgrading.
