Telstra Moves Into Wearable Biz
The No 1 telco currently offers 10 devices from brands such as FitBit, Garmin, Jawbone, Samsung, Huawei and Striiv, and plans to add several more in coming weeks.
They are unlikely to include the Apple Watch: at least for the time being, that device remains available only from Apple online, or Apple stores.
Telstra device management director Andrew Volard says consumers can walk into their local Telstra shop, pick up a wearable, try it on and see if it works for them. Shop staff would be able to help consumers find a model that suits their budget, lifestyle and smartphone.
And if they’re on a Telstra Go Mobile plan, they can use it to pay off the device of their choice in instalments over 12 or 24 months.
