The new Sharp TV’s which was shown in the USA overnight include a 60″ and 70″ model, both TV’s are tipped to be launched in Australia next year. 

One LA dealer who held a demonstration night for the new Sharp audio offering sold 22 models in under two hours. 

THX, which has given the two UD27-series 4K Ultra HD TVs official THX 4K certification. 

At the launch event Mark Waldrep, CEO of AIX Records, whose company is making 24 bit high res music available from such major artists as Willie Nelson demonstrated content playing on the new Sharp audio player.

The UD27 TV displays a resolution of 3840×2160 and use Sharp’s SmartCentral 3.0 Smart TV platform.

In addition, the sets offer Spectros which is a rich colour display technology that delivers a 21 percent wider colour gamut over traditional LED TVs, the Sharp models also has an AquoDimming option for enhanced contrast as well as the Sharp developed revelation Upscaler.

A  Sharp D-WH1000U wireless high resolution audio player has also been released that is capable of transmitting uncompressed, lossless, high resolution 24 bit/96kHz audio wirelessly through the 5.2-5.8 GHz band under the WiSA standard.

 Support for several audio formats is offered, including FLAC, WAV and DSD. A Blu-ray drive capable of wireless 1080p video and SACD playback is integrated as well. Users can also stream music to the device through an Android and iOS app. Customers can then listen to their audio with any WiSA-compliant speaker system or a traditional audio setup with the help of a separate VR-WR100U Sharp Wireless Bridge
