Leica Introduces Smaller 4K Laser Projector
Leica has expanded its home cinema range with the Cine Compact 1, a smaller 4K laser projector designed for buyers who want premium projection without a permanent ceiling installation.
Priced at about $3,050, the Cine Compact 1 sits below Leica’s larger Cine Play 1, which is around $5,800, and the Cine 1 ultra-short-throw model, which is around $13,750. It uses a triple RGB laser light source rated for up to 25,000 hours and supports 4K resolution through pixel shifting.
The projector can produce images up to 220 inches, although its 1,700 ANSI lumen brightness means it will perform best in dark rooms or low-light outdoor settings. HDR support includes Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, while Leica Image Optimization is designed to improve colour, contrast and gradation.

A genuine Leica Summicron zoom lens is one of the key differentiators, giving the projector stronger optical credentials than many lifestyle models. Built-in streaming runs through Hisense’s VIDAA platform, with access to major apps including Netflix. Connectivity includes AirPlay, Bluetooth, one HDMI eARC port and USB.
At under 10 pounds, the Cine Compact 1 is portable enough to move between rooms, though buyers may want external audio for the best experience.
The Leica Cine Compact 1 is scheduled to launch in Australia on 18 June 2026 with a recommended retail price of $2,990. It will be available through Leica Stores, authorised Leica dealers and selected specialist home cinema retailers.
